About Us
The story behind CyberDefense Firm and why we do what we do.
Our Mission
To protect vulnerable community organizations like schools, churches, small businesses, and veterans from digital threats through accessible cybersecurity education, resources, and support.
Our Story
Chris Hilton Sr. saw a pattern that troubled him. Schools, churches, and small businesses — the backbone of our communities — were falling victim to cyber attacks. They had limited IT resources, budgets stretched thin, and little guidance on how to protect themselves. Meanwhile, cybersecurity help wasn't accessible to them. It was expensive. It was jargon-heavy. It felt like it wasn't built for them.
With a background in military service and a passion for service to his community, Chris felt compelled to act. He'd spent his career working in government and private sector cybersecurity, and he understood the stakes. He knew that protection should be a right, not a luxury. He founded CyberDefense Firm as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to level the playing field — to bring real, practical cybersecurity protection to the organizations that need it most but can least afford it.
Today, CDF is headquartered in Riverside County, California — serving organizations nationwide with board leadership and partners located in multiple states. We work with schools, churches, small businesses, and veterans through remote and on-site support — because every community deserves real protection.
